Privacy

The short version

We count visits so we know which pages help people. We do not set advertising cookies, we do not build a profile of you, and we do not sell anything about you to anyone. You can read this whole site without telling us who you are.

What we collect

We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used: which pages are read, roughly where visitors are from (city or region, not address), what kind of device they use, and how they found us, such as a Google search. Google Analytics sets cookies to tell a returning visit from a new one. We have turned off its advertising features and Google Signals, and we never see your name, email, or exact location.

You can block these cookies in your browser settings, or use Google’s opt-out add-on. The site works the same either way. Google’s handling of this data is covered by Google’s privacy policy.

Our web host, Cloudflare, also keeps a simple count of page views without cookies.

If you fill in our contact form, we receive what you typed, because that is the point of the form. We use it to reply to you and nothing else.

If you add a note to our Temple Worship Board, we keep your note, the first name and ward you choose to include, and a scrambled code made from your internet address so we can slow down spam. A stake moderator reads each note before it is shown to anyone. Your browser also remembers your own notes so you can see them while they wait for approval; that stays on your device. To have a note removed, contact us.

Things we embed from elsewhere

A few parts of this site come from other companies. When you use them, you are interacting with that company and their privacy policy applies:

• Maps from Google, so you can find our buildings.
• Videos from YouTube. These do not load until you press play, and we use YouTube’s no-cookie address.
• Ward programs and flyers from Canva, WardBullet, or Google Docs, depending on which tool a ward uses.
• Bishop appointment booking from Calendly. This does not load until you choose to open it.
• Fonts from Google Fonts.

Where we can, we set these up so nothing loads until you ask for it. That is why some things on this site are behind a button rather than simply appearing.

Photographs

We ask permission before publishing a photograph of someone. For anyone under 18 we require written permission from a parent or guardian, and we do not publish a young person’s photograph together with their full name.

If a photo of you or your child is on this site and you would like it removed, tell us and we will take it down. You do not need to give a reason.

Children

This site is meant for the whole community, including families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
